Author Guidelines

JALTECH: Journal of Arabic Learning Technology publishes original research-based and conceptual articles related to the integration of technology in Arabic language learning and teaching. The journal welcomes contributions that explore digital innovation, educational technology, and pedagogical approaches in Arabic language education.

Manuscripts submitted to this journal must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration for publication in any other journal or medium. The journal maintains high academic standards through a rigorous double-blind peer review process.

Manuscript Preparation

Manuscripts must be prepared using Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx). The manuscript should be typed on A4-sized paper with margins of 2.5 cm on all sides. The text must be written in Cambria font, size 11, using 1.5 line spacing and a single-column layout.

The length of the manuscript should range between 6,000 and 8,000 words, including references.

All submissions must be written in clear and grammatically correct English. Authors whose native language is not English are strongly encouraged to have their manuscripts professionally edited before submission.

Title and Author Information

The title of the article should be concise, informative, and clearly reflect the focus of the study. It must not exceed 15 words and should be written in Cambria font, size 14, bold, with capitalization of the first letter of each major word.

Author names should be written without academic titles and formatted in Cambria 11 bold.

Each author’s affiliation must include: institution name and country.

Affiliations should be written in Cambria font size 10.

Email addresses for all authors must be provided. One author should be designated as the corresponding author, including full contact information such as email address and phone or WhatsApp number.

Abstract and Keywords

The abstract must be written in English, using Cambria font size 10, and consist of 150–250 words in a single paragraph.

The abstract should clearly present:

  • research background or problem
  • research objectives
  • methodology
  • main findings
  • conclusions or implications

Keywords should consist of three to five words or phrases, arranged in alphabetical order and separated by semicolons (;).

Introduction

The Introduction should present the background and context of the study and explain the rationale for conducting the research.

Authors should:

  • describe the research problem
  • identify gaps in previous studies
  • highlight the originality and significance of the research

The section should end with a clear statement of the research objectives.

A detailed literature review or discussion of results should not be included in this section.

Literature Review

The Literature Review should provide a critical discussion of theories and previous research related to the topic.

Authors should synthesize existing studies rather than merely describing them and clearly identify:

  • research gaps
  • inconsistencies
  • limitations of previous studies

All citations must follow APA 7th edition style. The use of reference management software such as Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote is strongly recommended.

Method

The Method section must clearly explain how the research was conducted.

This section should include:

  • research design or type of study
  • data sources or research participants
  • data collection techniques
  • methods of data analysis

The description should be sufficiently detailed so that the study can be understood and potentially replicated by other researchers.

Results and Discussion

The Results and Discussion should be presented in one integrated section.

The Results should clearly present the findings without unnecessary repetition of data already shown in tables or figures.

The Discussion should interpret the findings by:

  • relating them to research objectives
  • comparing them with previous studies
  • explaining theoretical or practical implications

Authors are encouraged to discuss unexpected findings and provide suggestions for future research.

Tables and figures must be numbered consecutively.

  • Figure captions should be placed below the figure
  • Table titles should be placed above the table

Both should be written in Cambria font size 9.

Conclusion

The Conclusion should directly address the research objectives and highlight the main contributions of the study.

This section should emphasize:

  • theoretical contributions
  • practical implications
  • possible directions for future research

The conclusion should be clear, concise, and impactful.

References

All references must follow the APA 7th edition citation style.

At least 80% of references must be primary sources, with a minimum of 20 journal articles, preferably published within the last five years.

Authors are strongly encouraged to use reference management software to ensure accuracy and consistency in citations.

Final Remarks

All manuscripts must be submitted through the journal’s online submission system.

Every submission will undergo a double-blind peer review process. Manuscripts that do not comply with these author guidelines may be returned to the authors for revision before being sent for review.
